Its interesting how Sir Gawain and the Green Knight seems to end in such a mournful tone. i personally think Gawain reached true knighthood through his failure...in that only then did he achieve the virtuous humility that is essential to live the live of chivalry. leadership requires humility. sometimes success really can come through failures
