The Mighty Trebuchet

In order to end this semester with a bang, Dr. Mitchell asked some of the honors students to build a trebuchet. Sounds easy enough, right? We thought so too, but boy were we wrong. What we originally thought to be able to complete in a single afternoon turned into 15 hours of work time and various errand runs. It was quite the wake up call to complexity of the world of carpentry, to say the least. But nevertheless, being the great honors students that we are, we conquered and completed the trebuchet! Although it didn't shoot as consistently as we would have liked on launch day, we were able to get several successful launches in of 100+ yards. Through this experience, several of the men and myself have decided to build a bigger and better one in the fall. We are now accepting donations for it :)
