They left

In the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus tells the twelve after their Passover meal, that each of their faiths will be shaken. They all say they will die for him, but when the time comes they all flee just as He said they would. What would have happened if they had not fled but instead had died for Jesus? Would there be a Christian Church, if Peter would have died with Christ. The weird and strange answer is yes, because it is right for us to be a church as a body of Christ. It is right to acknowledge that Christ is Lord even to these who might kill you for it. Even though Peter was wrong in denying Christ, God brought good through him think about it If Peter did some right God would still use Peter just in a different way God would have risen up a leader and sent the promised holy spirit even if all the disciples were killed for the Faith. That is that because god is strong. Machiavelli it appears argues that cruelty from princes is how princes should rightly act. He knows that Cruelty is wrong, so possibly he would argue that because of the good effects of cruelty from princes we must judge that it is right. We can see that God brought good effect when Peter was wrong in denying him and we believe that God would still bring good effects if peter had not denied him. So if a prince is not cruel which appears good will God bring a peaceful country. No! A modern day example is the example of Hitler whose power should have been cruelly destroyed so that Germany did not have to be cruelly destroyed. St. Thomas Aquinas would argue this because he said when there is no other way then a wrong can be done if its effect is good and if you do it not meaning to harm, only to help.
