Obsession ::small soap box::

Please forgive me, I mean no offense to anyone. ^_^

Mary's "tunic", the finger of a saint, the dead body of a disciple: lined, and lit up for all to see, kiss, touch, pray to, beg pardon from... really? How is this in ANY way OK with God? I'm thinking He pretty much told us NOT to use idols, or worship the dead [Exodus 20:4, Numbers 19:13, and Ezekiel 43:7-9]. "O, they're Catholic/from the 'old days', it's what they believe- you can't fault them for that," you say? Any body who claims the name of Christ should obey God, and not men or tradition. Making long treks to worship something left behind by a MORTAL, a HUMAN BEING, being "saintly," "divine," or otherwise- that are still very much UNDER God, and the Trinity- and to ask forgiveness by them? Is there not ONE name under heaven whereby you must be saved? "O, but they are making great sacrifices! Surely God sees that!" No! In fact, 1 Samuel 15:22 says: "And Samuel said, 'Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.'" No length of journey, no depth of piety, no entirety of wretchedness and self-loathing can sanctify oneself. God alone saves, and He does so without our help or "good deeds". Simply turn to Him, that is all- and once one believes, He is always open for business [Hebrews 4:16] ^_^
